The Sage Lifestyle

If you have not heard for Sage Machado, then you might be completely unaware of the world around you.  Just kidding, kind of.  Sage Machado is the brains and beauty behind the The Sage Lifestyle.   The Sage Lifestyle is a combination of jewelry, perfume oils, clothing and home goods based out of jewel of a shop in California.

In early 1998, Machado combined her considerable talent and boundless energy to launch the first wildly successful Sage boutique in Los Angeles, which was devoted entirely to her eponymous jewelry line and housed over 300 pieces. The combination of glorious jewels and attentive service helped the tiny "jewel box" of a store become a resounding success. Machado's encore? Creating a line of 12 exquisite perfume oils, bath and candles, all named after, what else? Gemstones!

 I was immediately attracted to the perfume oils when I kept seeing them pop up online. 
Sage’s unique fragrances are hand blended using only the highest quality essential and fragrance oils. Whilst developing each scent, Sage researched the history of each gemstone to find flowers and essences to evoke the color and mood of the gemstone itself.  The Perfume Oils come in adorable roll-ons that are cute as well as functional.  You can carry them anywhere, and they come in the most beautfiul packaging of Japanese Washi paper.  They take treating yourself to a whole new level.  

I had the pleasrue of trying a few Perfume Oils  and I am in love.  The Pearl perfume oil is perfect for moms who want a subtle fragrance (think clean skin, but better). The fragrance’s full, round base note accord of meditative sandalwood and fresh musk accented with warm vanilla and fresh, green mousse de chene suggests the innocence and spiritual purity that pearls have long represented.  Pearl perfume oil is perfect for everyday use.  It develops into such an irresistible warm fragrance.

With the sheerest base notes blending together to create this scent, both soft and warm, we experience the subtle hint of Indian sandalwood, white crisp amber, clean oceanic musk - and a touch of rain, dew on the skin at morning - letting the light in. I could wear this one every single day, and I always get people asking me what I am wearing.  For me it provides that feeling of the shower after the beach where the ocean still lingers.  It beckons that people come closer.  

Speaking of fresh, the Sage perfume oil is like a lush, green garden in a bottle.  Crisp, aromatic top notes of cucumber and white sage from New Mexico introduce a single middle note of wild sweet pea. These rest on a base note accord of lush green musk from Kenya and sheer Egyptian musk that is accented with sweet, earthy Tonka bean. This is nature in a bottle.  It reminds me of walking in the woods behind my parents home after a fresh spring rain.

My other favorite (so far) is the Turqiouse perfume oil.  Its youthful, enlivening top note accord of blue chamomile, grapefruit, cassis and ozone elements glistens like fragrant, sun-kissed sea spray. Turquoise’s base note accord of watery, flower-infused musk melds with Mysore sandalwood for a dry down of freshly subtle depth. This is the beach in Bermuda for me.  It is floral, but with a rich marine scent.  It lasts all day and night.  I am instantly attracted to this bottle.

Perfume oils contain no water or alcohol and the develop on the wearer.  These are perfect for busy mommies on the go and moms who want to smell like themselves (only much better).  These perfume oils are truly gems and jewels.
