Caldrea Clean!

As summer ends (boooo!), I find myself needing to get everything organized and clean. My new summer/fall obsession are Caldrea cleaning products. My home has never smelled (or looked) so good!

If something does not smell good, then I simply turn my nose up at it. That includes what I choose to clean my home. Caldrea uses the finest plant-derived ingredients and essential oils to provide natural freshness and cleaning potency. not tested on animals. Caldrea is earth-friendly and does not test on animals.
Our personal favorite is the Landry Detergent in Sandalwood Riceflower. It cleans so well, and it smells amazing! No synthetic fragrances here! It is biodegradable too! I love when I put on a piece of just-washed clothing, the scent is so fresh. Well with Calrdre Laundry detergent, the scent stays fresh.

My other favorite is the All-Purpose Cleanser. It contains naturally derived cleaning surfactants and natural Birch Bark extract for added cleaning potency. A little goes a long way, and you can mix it with water to make your own counter spray. I use mine to clean my floors. It makes my home smell like a dream!
The scents of this line are all so fragrant and beautiful. I may be hanging on to summer with all my might, but if I have to be indoors more this year, Caldrea will make it that much easier to handle.

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day

I love cleaning (I know, roll your eyes), but it is true. I am Virgo and also very obsessive. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was very aware that the cleaning products I had always used were no longer okay. Not only did the fumes make me sick, but I realized I was also effecting my child. I became addicted to Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Lavender Dish Soap (like I actually looked forward to washing dishes). It was so amazing. The smell calmed me, and I found myself excited to clean. I soon converted my family.

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day is a full line of cleaning and home care products that uses naturally derived ingredients whenever possible. If they cannot find a natural ingredient, they use a safe synthetic. The products are environmentally friendly, cruelty free, and all of their liquid products are biodegradable. The kitschy packaging is always eye-catching, and the scents are delicious. If scent is not your thing, there is even a scent-free line.

The Automatic Dish Packs are easy to use, simply pop in the dishwasher and let the scent take you away. I love that they are chlorine free, because I cannot take the smell of chlorine. I did not even need to pre-rinse my dishes, and they worked like a charm.

The Candles are made from soy wax, and are so amazing. I have burnt mine for only a few hours in the gorgeous Geranium scent. I woke up the next morning after blowing out the candle the night before, and I could still smell it! I made fish the other night, and we all know how that invades the air. Well, this candle not only covered the smell, it knocked it out!

Clean and heavenly!

Seventh Generation Healthy Home Starter Kit Giveaway!

“In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.” –from the Great Law of the Iroquois Confederacy
Seventh Generation was created to help the environment while still allowing you to clean and maintain your home in a convenient manner. The Seventh Generation line includes everything from household cleaners to diapers and paper towels. They donate 10% of their profits to organizations that work for positive change. Seventh Generation is a company taking social responsibility. The never test on animals and use plant based agents to help keep your home clean. Lots of the cleaners are also biodegradable.
I have been using Seventh Generation cleaning products since I got pregnant and realized that I needed and wanted to be careful about what kind of products I had around my then unborn child and myself. I was getting particularly sick of the bleach smell in my dishwasher detergent, and then I changed to Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwasher Gel and never turned back! Though I cannot recommend this particular use to everyone, I also used the Natural Dish Liquid to get diaper rash balm out of my curious daughter’s hair. I will say it left her hair nice and shiny!
When I read that they had come out with a new disinfecting line, I contacted them right away to know more. Because Seventh Generation is such an amazing company they sent me a bag of their most wonderful cleaning items (including the new disinfecting line) to try out for myself. Good news readers! One lucky Product Mommy reader will also receive a bag of these same items listed and reviewed below! Here is my review of each of these wonderful products:
Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner has an Emerald Cypress & Fir Scent . It cleans the toughest toilet stains and but without an offensive chemical smell.
Tub & Tile Cleaner has the same Emerald Cypress & Fir Scent. I had stains on my tub from too many bubble baths that I could never seem to get off. I admit, I did not really even know they were there, until I used this cleaner and saw how white my tub could actually be!
The Natural Shower Cleaner is a Green Mandarin & Leaf scent and smells so fresh and clean. We use this to spray down our shower after every other use, to keep it clean, free of mold and smelling fresh.
The new Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner has a Lemongrass & Thyme Scent. It kills 99.99% of germs botanically (including Influenza A and H1N1). I was looking for a safer disinfecting cleaners for the bathroom counters and toilet, and this is it! It smells more of thyme than lemongrass to me. I will say, you must like the scent of thyme (which I love). This cleans so well, and I was able to do my whole bathroom (counter first, then toilet) with two paper towels.
The Natural Glass & Surface is Free & Clear (unscented). This does wonders to eliminate little hand prints and streaks from your glass surfaces. We also use it to clean the outside of our oven as it shines it up so nicely. A home with Chrome cannot live with this cleaner!
The Free& Clear Natural All Purpose Cleaner is great for the kitchen and for the non-porous surfaces in your living areas. I do not like scented products in my kitchen because I feel like they interfere with lovely food smells. It cleans beautifully!
The Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner is great to use to really disinfect your home in any area that may need it. It has the same Lemongrass & Thyme scent of the other Disinfecting products from Seventh Generation. I like this after we have any meat or egg products on our counter-tops to kill the harmful germs that come from raw meat.
The Disinfecting Wipes are great for a quick clean, and one cloth goes very far. I used one of these cloths to clean my entire bathroom to test it out. I am obsessed with these as I am a total anti-germ warrior.
The 100% Recycled Paper Towels are perfect to use with any of the cleaners mentioned above. They are not bleached or dyed and are more absorbent than my old paper towels.

One lucky reader with get a full-sized bottle of all of the cleaners mentioned above, including the paper towels, all in a lovely Seventh Generation reusable bag. If you would like to win this Healthy Home Starter Kit, please enter below. Good Luck!

Field Organics Cleaning Products

Field Organics is a company that was started with the goal of creating cleaners that were safe to use in households with children. All of the cleaners are phosphate free, pH balanced and biodegradable. They are cruelty-free, packaged in recyclable bottles, with recycled paper labels printed with soy ink. Field Organics supports the Children's Health Environmental Network, which protects children from environmental hazards. We have the Toy Cleaner in Tea Tree (which is a natural antiseptic). The Toy Cleaner is made from coconut, palm and jojoba oils, spring water and essential botanical oils. If you have ever seen the commercials for a certain bleach product to be used to "clean" your children's toys..and you cringed at the thought..this is the toy cleaner for you. It smells so wonderful and works on all non-porous surfaces to clean and disinfect. You can use it on toys, changing tables, diaper pails, etc. I am overjoyed to have a safer option, especially in this season of germs. Check out this cool company! I am definitely a fan for life and plan on picking up more of the line.
