Crazy Crayons

If your home is anything like mine, you always have crayons in little pieces everywhere. My daughter likes her crayons whole (so you would think she would stop breaking them), so I never know what to do with all of those pieces, and throwing them away is so wasteful. A good friend told me about Crazy Crayons.
Crazy Crayons are made from 100% recycled crayons collected by the National Crayon Recycle Program (as of MAY, 2010, they have collected over 53,000 pounds of unwanted crayons from schools, restaurants and many caring organizations across the USA). It is a great way to teach your children or students about recycling. Crazy Crayons uses only certified non-toxic crayons. Even the crayons that are lovingly handcrafted from Crazy Crayons can be sent back to be recycled when you or your child is done with them. It is a never-ending crayon recycling program. Each crayon is hand-made. There are so many shapes and themes to choose from. Even the packaging from this company is earth-friendly. Every purchase supports the Crayon Recycle Program which allows schools, restaurants etc. to recycle crayons instead of throwing them in our landfills.
• CRAZY CRAYONS are packaged as singles or theme sets. (Your choice of themes)
• Each Gift Box comes with a recycled paper doodle pad in a tray-style recycled paper box and highlighted with a raffia grass bow.
• Some crayons are packaged in cellophane, which looks like clear plastic but is a product made from tree gum that is biodegradable.
Crazy Crayons also offers the packaging choice of reusable, resealable, recyclable poly-zip baggies, which is approved and preferred by the "Environmentally Conscious Solid Waste Management People"

Here is how you can send your un-wanted crayons in to make them into something useful and beautiful (another wonderful crayon. Just click on this address http://www.earthlingcrayons.com/id58.html.
We ordered a few crayons to try them out. The first were the crayon sticks that say “Recycle” which was fun for me to explain to my daughter what it means. We also got the Eco Stars which are so wonderful, and a perfect gift. They are solidly colored unlike the swirl of the “Recycle” sticks and I had a hard time giving them to my daughter as I wanted to save them! We also got a fish made up of a swirl of colors, and I swear it is so cool and well-sized that she will never use it up. My daughter colored from the minute we opened the box until dinner time. She loves her new crayons. I have been gathering up the broken bits from her other crayons to get them ready to send, and encourage you to do the same. She decided that she wanted to give Crazy Crayons to her friends for her birthday and plans on having mermaid crayons in her birthday gift bags. I cannot wait!
