Candle 79

A fabulous meal really changes the tone of the day. I try to eat healthy, but lately I was feeling a little uninspired. Then I picked up the Candle 79 cookbook and my whole outlook changed. In most cases, I find one or two recipes I love in a cookbook and that is that, but I find myself reaching for this one over and over. I have tried almost every recipe, with no sign of stopping. I love that my whole family delights in these dishes.
Continually rated as one of the best vegan restaurants in the country, Candle 79 is at the forefront of a movement to bring elegance and sophistication to vegetarian cuisine. Not only is its fare local, seasonal, organic, and sustainable, but also so flavorful and satisfying that customers—vegan and omnivore alike—are constantly asking for recipes to cook at home. This collection answers that call, with simple yet impressive recipes...Expanding the horizons of vegan fare with appetizers, soups, salads, mains, brunches, desserts, cocktails, and wine pairings, Candle 79 Cookbook invites every home cook to make truly green cuisine.

I am not a vegan but this cookbook makes me want to become one. I was in love with the Live Lasagna. It was so easy to make, and even my skeptical husband was envious. I had to make a whole new one the next night. My four-year old brought it for her lunch to school. I loved that it was so delicious and so healthy.
One of our other favorites is the Smoked Paprika Hummus. And because I love sharing a good thing, you can find that recipe HERE.
Whether you are bored of the same old thing for every meal, or looking to try something new to spice up a dull dinner, you have to run out and grab Candle 79 and I promise your tastebuds and your tummy will thank you.
